If you’re tired of the beaten track and ready to test your mettle against the “Ghosts of the High Country,” this is the hunt for you. We don’t do lodge fires and luxury cabins. We do steep ridges, minimalist packs, and the raw beauty of the Victorian Alps.
Join Zane Cameron, a specialist in rugged Sambar fly hunting, for an intensive four-day expedition into the heart of public land. This isn’t just a hunt; it’s a masterclass in wilderness survival and elite stalking tactics.
We are targeting mature, heavy-timbered Sambar stags in the 23 to 30-inch range. These old warriors live in isolated pockets where vehicle access is non-existent. By fly camping, we stay in their “living room,” positioned perfectly for that first-light glassing session or that final evening stalk.
Fly camping has become the gold standard for the serious Australian hunter. It involves venturing deep into remote areas with only a pack, a rifle, and a lightweight fly for shelter. It’s tough, it’s rewarding, and it’s the most effective way to find a trophy.
Zane Cameron isn’t just your guide; he’s a mentor. With a wealth of knowledge on deer behavior, wind patterns, and High Country navigation, Zane ensures hunters of any experience level (rifle, bow, or camera) walk out of the bush more capable than when they walked in.
