Education Weekend (Stage 1)
Hosted in Merriwa on the Liverpool Plains of North Western NSW, the Beginner Hunter Education course is a 3 day course designed to provide new hunters the essential firearm and hunting skills needed to get their hunting journey underway.
The course will cover everything from firearm ownership and safety, through to species availability, hunting techniques, shot placement and processing your harvest. We will also explore how to prepare and plan for your future hunts through discussing the nice to haves and must haves in your pack, state forest hunting, private land hunting plus so much more.
Once the theory is out of the way, you will observe a guided hunt with us in which the course facilitator will harvest multiple meat animals. Now it’s time to get your hands dirty! You’ll then learn how to gut, skin, and butcher an animal correctly, getting hands-on along the way. You will also get plenty of your own meat to take home to cook for yourself.
There will be plenty of opportunities to practise stalking game just for fun.
If you own a Bow, bring it along so we can look at tuning it and do some target practice.
