ABH Outfitters is a family owned Business based in the heart of duck country in Victoria Australia. ABH Outfitters is proud to offer our clients great game bird hunting opportunities in Australia.
Established in 2011 to cater for International and Australian residents wishing to participate in game bird hunting on private and public lands.

Hunting game birds since my childhood with my father, starting some 30 odd years ago, the passion for game bird hunting has grown into a Business, where I wish to share my Hunting opportunity’s with hunters from all around the world.
Hunting ducks over decoys, pointing dogs flushing birds, if its bird related I’m there.
Every time I hunt I learn something new and any activity that clears my mind and has me focusing on the task at hand must be good for the soul.

There’s no lodge, no 5 star accommodation or meals served by veteran chefs – its full on duck hunting in the Australian elements.
Early in the season ABH Outfitters scout our areas to make sure duck numbers and species are available for your hunt. Locations take us anywhere in Victoria so you may hunt North of the state along the border and a day later we will be hunting along the coast in the South East.
Hunting will be in open wetland swamps to coastal waterways, freshwater rivers to freshly cropped paddocks.
FIREARMS & AUSTRALIA:
In Australia we no longer have the use of certain types of guns for Game hunting in our country. In Victoria you cannot use a semi automatic shotgun for Hunting native gamebirds.
ABH Outfitters can provide basic U/O and Double Barrel Field shotguns and ammunition as required for your guided hunt. You may bring with you certain types of firearms for hunting purposes in Victoria.
CUSTOMS – TAXIDERMY & EXPORTATION:
You may wish to have your game birds retuned to the country of your origin once your guided hunt has been completed. The rules and laws of all countries in regards to exporting wild game are different. You will be required to have the game birds mounted or at least their skins tanned.
This is to be undertaken by a licensed and authorized agent (taxidermist) by the Australian Government. The fees for mounting and exporting your game birds will be a direct cost to YOU.
We will organize for your game birds to be delivered to the preferred Agent
NOTE: Some countries may not import and export wildlife. It is your best interest to make sure you are aware of your countries governing wildlife laws.
LICENCES & PERMITS:
All relevant documentation for you to hunt in Victoria will be – with your assistance – completed by us. You will have to fill out forms and send certain documentation to us for applications purposes. Please be aware that it is at the discretion of Australian government agencies on whether you will be able to hunt in Australia.
Once you have paid your booking fee we will undertake the applications. License’s will be valid for a period of 6 months from the date issued.
TRANSFERS TO & FROM THE AIRPORT:
We will pick up international hunters from Melbourne International Airport only. International Hunters will be required to arrive a minimum 1 day prior to their hunt dates before 2 p.m. – we will need time to get you settled and to your hunt destination.
After your time has finished with us we will return you to the Melbourne International Airport Prior to your Flight times. You will advise us of your flight schedule.
If you are currently in Australia before your guided hunt or a staying on afterwards please let us know.
WEATER AND CONDITIONS:
ABH Outfitters will hunt in all types of weather as Autumn can bring a mix of weather – sunshine and warm days to blizzard like conditions and storms. The hunts will be tailored around our weather at the time of your hunt. For the purpose of your safety if the conditions are too dangerous we may relocate our hunt location.

Our accommodation varies as we travel throughout Victoria Hunting. It can be camp accommodation as we may be remote from any town. We allow for camp accommodation and meals – no alcohol – within our price. If you wish to be supplied with more comfortable meals and lodging, depending on location we can arrange this at your expense.

We are not responsible for the hunting trip providers listed on our website. Any agreements or arrangements are solely between you and the provider. Conduct your own research before engaging in any hunting trips or transactions.
(2) Guides are often out hunting in remote locations and will not have access to emails or phone reception. For this reason, sometimes they can be slow in responding. Please be patient when waiting for a response.
(3) It is not uncommon for guides to be booked out 3-6 months in advance. Please keep that in mind when requesting prospective dates.
