Hunt Description

Join Strider Expeditions for a five-day guided backpack hunting trip into New Zealand’s South Island wilderness, pursuing free-range red stag, Himalayan tahr and chamois.

These hunts are conducted on foot. Four-wheel drives might be used to help access more country, but this is still a backpack hunt. Hunters carry their own equipment and supplies, with each trip tailored to their fitness, experience and preferred target species.

Led by professional hunting guide Jurgen Schwanecke, these expeditions offer a challenging and rewarding hunting experience in some of New Zealand’s most spectacular mountain country. Expect long days hunting, rugged terrain and genuine public land mountain hunting.

50% deposit at booking of hunt, remaining 50% balance paid within 30 days of hunt dates Cancellation terms: Full refund applicable to the initial 50% deposit 90 days prior to hunt dates.
