What we do
We will be covering a variety of things about hunting including;
Butchering:
We will show you how to break down an animal into primal cuts
Skinning
This is Subject to situation but we are working on a way to get an animal fresh so that we can show the gutting process as well!
We will be mincing, making sausages/kabana.
Knife sharpening
Many tips and tricks when it comes to butchering
Firearms – We have a firearms specialist present, who will go over everything there is to know about firearms (and load development if you’re interested) he will cover;
Firearm safety
Shot placement
What calibers are best for what animals
Mounting Accessories and Scopes
Sighting in a rifle
Firearm maintenance
Any course that states NSW DPI R License – we will have an R license instructor attending the course so you’ll get to sit that and get your R license which allows you to hunt NSW State Forest
We will be doing live fire training and possibly some hunting drills using targets (how to approach, reading the wind etc) So BYO firearms – be sure to travel with your firearms in accordance with Queensland legislation
We will cover camo, stalking techniques, calling techniques and much more.
We will cover Glassing techniques, the effect of thermals and how animals react to it, as well as how to identify animal sign (scat, wallows and tree rubs)
