Broadsound Safaris

Broadsound Safaris have access to one of only a small number of hunt able free range herds of Hog Deer to be found anywhere in the world. Hog deer are very elusive and getting a mature stag can be very challenging. Trophy’s start at 12” but can reach 18” plus in exceptional animals.

Broadsound Safaris is based on the Central Coast of Queensland in close proximity to Hamilton Island, the Witt-Sundays and of course the Great Barrier Reef as well as numerous other wonderful tourist destinations should visitors wish to go fishing or enjoy other activities in our fantastic part of the world. On all of our hunts if you are only a single hunter we will endeavour to find another hunter to put with you for a 2×1 hunt unless you state in the beginning that you wish to hunt alone. Any lone wolf rifle hunters looking for a more affordable hunt can do so on a one day one night hunt from early July through until late August and negotiate price.

Broadsound Safaris Australia is owned and operated by Greg Coyne and is a family owned business based in Queensland with more than 20 years experience in the guiding business.

Offering a wealth of experience, Greg’s vast knowledge of the Australian Deer and native wildlife, is second to none.

Broadsound Safaris is constantly out in the field and searching for “THE BIG ONES” to give you the Trophy of a life time.

The hunt duration for most other species will depend on the area and the species sort. For most hunters, a minimum of two full days is normally required for the first trophy animal than add one day per additional trophy animal.

Australian Hunters Club members get 5% off the total fee.

Includes 2 full days of hunting with three nights.

There are no size restrictions on trophies on any of our hunts except for potential top 10 trophies. Otherwise hunters can harvest any size Stag that they see providing it is a fully mature animal. It is very possible to find a Gold medal stag in any given month. Any stag making the top 10 list with SCI or the ADA  with attract a premium.

Rifles and ammo are supplied for all of our hunts and are free of charge.

All capping and skinning is free. Freezing of skins and Capes plus cleaning of skulls and shipment to a taxidermist will be $200 per stag and $350 per Bovine working on skull mounts or standard shoulder mounts. This does not include any salting, tanning or freight home costs.

Airport transfers to the hunting lodge is available for international clients for $800 per vehicle return. Australian & New Zealand  clients can hire a small vehicle from the various airports and self-drive. Drive time to the Broadsound Lodge is 2.5 from Rockhampton, 2 hours from Mackay and 3.5 from Proserpine and Airlie Beach.
